Idaho Pocahontas Chapter welcomes you!

HISTORY
Idaho Pocahontas was the second chapter to be organized in Idaho. We were organized on March 29, 1910; our charter was granted on May 3, 1912.  Louise Finney Stone was the organizing regent. The Pocahontas name came from an organizing member, Mrs. Lawwill, who was a descendent of Pocahontas.

We have a scholarship fund in honor of Louise Finney Stone at Albertson College of Idaho. This scholarship is given to a junior or senior class member majoring in American History.

We always have good participation by the schools in the DAR Good Citizens Contest and the American History Essay Contest.  Our chapter often has sponsored state and regional winners.

MEETINGS
Regular meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month except during the summer. The programs are always interesting and very well attended.
