Idaho Pocahontas
  Chapter, NSDAR
Caldwell, Idaho

Idaho Pocahontas Chapter, NSDAR, Welcomes You!

HISTORY
Idaho Pocahontas Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was the second chapter to be organized in Idaho.  The chapter organized on March 29, 1910, and our charter was granted on May 3, 1912.  Louise Finney Stone was the organizing regent.  The Pocahontas name came from an organizing member, Mrs. Lawwill, who was a descendant of Pocahontas.

We have a scholarship fund in honor of Louise Finney Stone at The College of Idaho. This scholarship is given to a junior or senior class member majoring in American History.

We always have good participation by the schools in the DAR Good Citizens Contest and the American History Essay Contest.  Our chapter often sponsors state and regional winners.

MEETINGS
Regular meetings are held monthly except during the summer months of July or August.  We are always looking for new members interested in community service and history!
