DAR is, first and foremost, a service-based organization. In fact, we are one of the largest women's service organizations in the United States. We focus our service efforts in three main areas: patriotism, education, and historic preservation. We also demonstrate our support for America's military and military families by providing service to our country's veterans, when and where we can.
Patriotism Activities
To support veterans recovering at a local medical center, Idaho Pocahontas Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters donated these beautiful homemade quilts, the best medicine for any ailment!
Education Activities
DAR sponsors several awards supporting students in our local communities, and Idaho Pocahontas Chapter, NSDAR, is no exception.
Historic Preservation Activities
The Oregon Trail bench is in Caldwell's Canyon Hill Cemetery. The stone marker is placed beside the Boise River off Old Highway 30 at the Oregon Trail Ford where the wagon trains crossed the Boise River on their travel west.
